Our Mission

Our mission at Utah Outdoor Therapies is to make outdoor and adventure based mental health treatment more accessible, with a focus on reuniting families damaged by addiction and mental health challenges through outdoor activities. We do this by hosting free and low-cost outdoor activities every month as a resource for individuals who want to improve their mental health through time outdoors and by providing private activities for addiction, mental health and autism treatment centers. What is a Community Activity?

Community activities are activities hosted by Utah Outdoor Therapies with free slots available every month! Research has demonstrated that time spent outdoors engaging in physical activity improves mental and physical health. Regular exercise can improve mood, strengthen bodies, reduce feelings of depression, anxiety and stress. Especially when outdoors physical activity has been proven to be an effective coping mechanism for life challenges. Sadly, many barriers exist that prevent people from spending time outdoors. Barriers of cost, limited access to gear, lack of education regarding activities, lack of awareness of communities that spend time outdoors, time restraints and travel can make it extremely difficult for individuals to spend time outdoors. Utah Outdoor Therapies strives to remove these barriers by providing monthly activities with free tickets available. We provide all the planning, equipment, staff, training and friends needed to have a healing experience outdoors.
